Writing Between Human/Tree
Make a mark with a tree. Make a mark like a tree. Who or what makes these marks? How might we read these marks? Are these marks words?
Through a variety of sonic, gestural and mark-making prompts this materially-engaged, performance writing workshop questions the nature of human language and explores how an interdisciplinary, interspecies approach to words might establish a better sense of our kinship with trees.
You will need comfortable outdoor clothes & shoes, a notebook, a pen/pencil and an open mind.
Camilla is a language artist, researcher and collaborator across a range of disciplines. The script of Reading Movement, a movement language performance, was long-listed for The Leslie Scalapino Award in 2016.
She is reading from her own work later on today.
